Woke up to a nippy morning… rocking our ever so swag black to the right and yellow to the left Gilnorkie socks.. Thanks to Miss Sahd…
Same bikes… Minus 1…( Broken) while a 3.5 gruesome km climb awaited us out of Reits.
But before….It was time for our usual group lodge photo. Thanks to MX our now departure photographer – who entertained us while cropping people out even with 4 cameras in use. (#repeat.) Thank goodness for our payroll sponsored gilets that were able to keep the cold at bay.

We finally set off uphill and upon reaching the top… The Lady Town Cryer finally joined us as we made our way to meet inspector Plaaitjie who waited for us in due time to reach our royalty destination (best be known assaults had to be achieved) –
Upon reaching the land of feeling royal we were greeted and escorted by Abantu Bethu (traffic officers) from the well known breadbasket of South Africa – Bethlehem.
The town crowd was as usual heart warming with cheers along the way and sirens that made us feel super important.
We pit stopped at the Road Side Diner where we were met by Philip and his lovely staff.
We were treated to lovely sandwiches and ice cold black doctors.
The missing bike finally joined us after a long itis break and stressful financial mishaps.

The road to Fouriesberg was painfully grinding but certainly bearable due to the new road that was numbered and ready for payment. – thanks to the elections

From breath taking mountain sceneries to cactus plants that just escaped being watered..Oh Hail Your Magesty…..to Lauren’s unexpected tumble..  Cows that make you forget leg pain while peddling 300meters higher than yesterday.
To us riding to our place of rest while being led by none other than Chasing the Sun himself.

Stretches were obviously mandatory before settling into the beautiful Fouriesberg Country Inn followed by major confusion of what is a tracksuit VS pj’s and welcoming the Pink Lady and her wonderful family was obviously a high light on its own…The chill at the watering hole was very educational as we learned that some of us are suffering due to garment overload….dinner followed – mounted with many “Kijile” folks that couldn’t help but go for seconds.
The evening ended on a high note – with Riders of the day being Kaya for showing resilience through tough times and The Queen for knowing how live life to its fullest. Gracefully at that!  Kush & Sili
